Adapted from a book of Stephen King (which means very little these days), The Long Walk’s synopsis is nothing more than walk or die. I didn’t read the book, so I can’t compare. However, after seing the movie, I seriously doubt that I’d ever read it.
The movie felt kind of repetitive and there’s no real purpose behind any of the scenes. The characters spend a lot of time talking, but most of their dialogues are useless. It feels like words for the sake of long exchanges that might have been philosophical or emotional but fell completely boring.
The end was nothing more than what we would have expected from the start. I really see no redeeming quality to The Long Walk, not even the cast which overacted most of the scenes.
Wouldn’t it be for some of the slightly gory deaths, it wouldn’t even be considered as a horror movie. A hard pass!
